We came, We saw, We shopped ... a little!

Pete and I are back from NYC and I'll post pictures of our buys just as soon as I get it all unpacked. I invite all of our Little Specialty Shop fans to our "Preview Night" this Thursday, August 28th from 4-7pm. Light refreshments will be served.
We brought back over 60 bags, dozens of scarves, wallets, and clutches, and a GYNORMOUS suitcase of jewelry! The plan is to have it all displayed for you by Thursday. Shop early for best selection!

You read it right folks! Don't tell the accountant okay? He doesn't even know we were in Toronto last week! UGH! I'm on my way to NYC this Wednesday and I'm taking my linebacker looking hubby. He thinks he's going for a romantic getaway:) Little does he know, he'll be carrying over 100 handbags for you!

GUESS WHAT? GUESS WHAT? GUESS WHAT?

We're getting the OPRAH bra! We're getting the OPRAH bra! YIPPEE! What a whirlwind this week has been! After stocking new lines of clothing, SPANX, SPANX bras, sterling silver jewelry, scarves, bags, shoes, boots, and more in Toronto last weekend, Vickie, Donna, and Shelby had a meeting today to purchase a magnificent line of jackets-perfect for the office, parties, or even New Year's Eve. We also purchased a line of NEW clothing for spring that I know you'll love as much as I do. The salesman is working on a plus size order for us as well:) The highlight of the entire day, I would have to say, is the news that we were approved to sell the OPRAH bra. Many of you have been asking us to sell bras for the last few years and we listened! You will now be able to purchase 2 lines of GOOD bras. We will carry the SPANX bras in cup sizes A to D and the OPRAH bras in cup sizes B to G. Both lines should arrive next week.

Explosion Rocks City as Little Specialty Shop Team enters!

Yes, you read that right! We shopped so much the city exploded around us! Many of you probably heard about the propane plant explosion that shut down the 401 and a 10 mile radius around it. It sure made for an interesting trip home, but I'll get to that later.
As it turned out, a few of the staff were unable to make it - Shelby due to the fact that her hubby needed emergency heart surgery on Friday and is now recovering nicely - boy was his timing off!
Julie had tickets to the re-scheduled Def Leppard concert so she drove to Kingston on Saturday and spent the day with us there.
We "researched" all afternoon at the Cataraqui Town Center so that we'd be right up to date on the trends for fall. After enjoying a lively dinner at Kelsey's discussing our finds, Donna, Jodi and I headed for the big city.
Enter explosion!
We knew we'd be in trouble bringing Donna along!
Anyway, it was a late night to say the least but for the most part, we behaved.
We headed to the Accessories Show first thing on Sunday morning and it's a good thing! You wont believe all of the new goodies we got!
2 lines of NEW clothing, shawls, scarves, capes, cardigans, 6 styles of boots, 6 styles of shoes, jewelry, bags, over 100 sterling silver rings, 8 new lines of SPANX including the newly designed SPANX BRA! Say goodbye to back fat!
Our pride and joy this trip? Our NEW LINE OF Hand painted, leather handbags and wallets-stunning!<em>
The orders will be coming in over the next few weeks so you'll have to check in every few days to see what's new. We will be stocking about 1/2 of the hand painted, leather collection tomorrow so get in to check them out!

It was also decided that we would host a big girl party in September once the kids are back in school. Watch your mailbox for a special invite for you and a friend.

After seeing only about 3/4 of the show (Donna and Jodi have decided that next year we need 2 full days!) we headed for our 6 hour drive home! Yes, you read that right. It took us 1.5 hours to get out of that 10 mile closed off section of Toronto. A friendly officer finally helped us find our way, only to get stopped again in Whitby for an accident that closed a few lanes of traffic.

Thank goodness that we were only held up and not in that accident. As Jodi said, "At least we're all happy people and we're not stuck with someone grumpy in the car!" Well said.

Vickie's taking the staff to The Accessories Show!

It's that time of year again. Time for the largest accessories show in Canada. The Mode Show will be held in Toronto this weekend and Vickie's taking the staff! We're going to be combing through the mall in Kingston to view the latest fashions and what's in demand for this season. Then, we'll travel to Toronto where she's rented a suite for the night. At 9 Sunday morning, it's back to business as we scour the show for fashions that our customers will be excited to have. The plan is to divide and conquer so that we can see it all. Thank goodness for camera phones! We've already started a "wish list" for our customers so if there's something that you want, that we don't have (now really, if we don't have it, how badly do you need it?) stop by and let one of the staff know what you're looking for. Little Miss Jodi is so excited she can't stand it! We'll post pictures of our road trip when we get back. Oh - and don't worry-shopping hours will remain the same at LSS. Tammy isn't able to make the trip and Joyce is coming out of retirement (once again) to
cover the shop.
