Take the SHINE challenge today
At this point I think we can all agree that the united states economy is in trouble...
We're all feeling it somewhere.
I mean after all, the big banks and stock markets are crashing even today, people are resorting to wood heat, Hanging clothes outside to dry, cancelling satelite and cell phone subscriptions, Driving less or multitasking, and they've just announced today that holiday shopping is expected to decrease by HALF ! (except at Little Specialty Shop!)
We would like to invite everyone , worldwide, to a challenge in an attempt to help our families survive the economic crisis while still making it user friendly and well ... More like a game !
We challenge everyone for the next 365 days to buy their clothing used !
(Except for your underclothes and socks buy all of your clothing used)
The average person throws away and/or donates 68 pounds of clothing per year, that's trillions of pounds of clothing being thrown into landfills and the sad thing is , most of it is still in great usable condition.
By making your clothing purchases USED and/or GENTLY USED you will be doing a HUGE service to the environment and to your pocket books.
Imagine what 68 pounds of clothing must cost you , now multiply that by the number of members in your family !
If you purchase Gently used clothing for the next year , you should be able to cut that amount by 75% - 80%.
Invite your extended families and friends to join this effort, put up flyers at your local corner stores, recruit your myspace friends, and lets all meet back here for the next year to compare stories and thrifty shopping experiences....Let's show the world that we CAN make an impact and regain controll of what we spend as a group ... Ready ... Set .... GO !

Join us for lunch! Vickie will provide a light lunch for our guests while you enjoy networking with other professional women. Please bring a stack of business cards and get to know the other women and/or businesses right here in Sensational Smiths Falls.
The Alzheimer Society's annual "coffee break" will be on at the same time and they'll be providing desserts for donations. Toss the diet for one day girls!
PS-The shop will be open until 7pm on the 30th to offer you a chance to preview our new fall lines. It's all happening at LSS on the 30th! Professional Women's luncheon, Alzheimer coffee break, fall preview night! Be there!

Little Specialty Shop is full, full, full
I apologize that it's been so long since my last post! I'm back from NYC and we've been unpacking jewelry, bags, scarves, over 70 watches, sunglasses, and more. Each day we get another order of NEW clothing from the orders we placed in Toronto last month.
We have 2pc denim suits, skirt sets, skirts, glamour tops, jackets, capes, shawls, formal wear, outerwear, tights, casual tops and more.
Our consignors have been busy too! We're adding over 200 pieces of clothing to the sales floor each day. Shop often for best results!
